The Vela Sabercats softball team scored 14 runs and held the host McAllen Memorial Mustangs to 2 in the Sabercats league win on Friday.

The Sabercats now sport a 8-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host McAllen for a 5A Region IV District 31 battle on Tuesday, April 8. Vela will encounter a Bulldogs team coming off a 19-6 league loss to Pioneer (Mission, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-7.

With the loss, McAllen Memorial moves to 1-12 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX) to encounter the Wolverines in a 5A Region IV District 31 battle on Tuesday, April 8. The Wolverines come into the battle with a record of 11-10. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial won 6-2 in their recent league battle against Vela (Edinburg, TX)
