The Andrean Fighting 59ers (Merrillville, IN) softball nipped the host Lowell Red Devils (Lowell, IN), 3-2 in Saturday's league bout.

The Fighting 59ers (8-1) will now prepare for their bout against Hanover Central (Cedar Lake, IN). The Wildcats go into the Northwest Crossroads bout with a 3-0 record. In their last bout, Hanover Central held off Kankakee Valley (Wheatfield, IN), 8-1, in a league bout.

The Red Devils now possess a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Highland for a Northwest Crossroads bout on Monday, April 8. Lowell will confront a Trojans squad coming off a 9-4 non-league loss to Valparaiso (Valparaiso, IN). The Trojans record now stands at 1-1.
