Independence Eagles (Thompson's Station, TN) supporters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Columbia Central Lions (Columbia, TN), 11-10 in a league game.

With the triumph, Independence improves its record to 15-10 on the year. The Eagles host Marshall County (Lewisburg, TN) to face the Tigers in a non-league game on Thursday, April 9. The Tigers enter the game with a record of 5-5. Marshall County won 10-3 in their recent non-league game against Cornersville (Cornersville, TN)

The Lions now hold a 16-5 record. They play next when they travel to Zion Christian Academy for a non-league game on Saturday, April 11. Columbia Central will face a Eagles squad coming off a 6-1 league win over Clarksville Christian (Clarksville, TN). The Eagles record now stands at 10-6.
