April 8, 2025: Mattoon, IL 61938 The Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL) soccer overwhelmed the visiting Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL), 5-0 in Tuesday's league challenge.
The Greenwave now hold a 4-2 record. They play next when they travel to Pleasant Plains/New Berlin for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 10. Mattoon will encounter a Cardinals squad coming off a 9-0 league win over Riverton/Tri-City (Riverton, IL). The Cardinals record now stands at 9-0.
With the loss, Charleston moves to 1-6 on the year. The Trojans host Salem (Salem, IL) to encounter the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 11.
