The East Central Hornets softball team scored 9 runs and held the host Wayne County War Eagles to 1 in the Hornets league win on Thursday.

The Hornets now sport a 22-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Patrick for a non-league battle on Monday, April 13. East Central will confront a Fighting Irish team coming off a 14-10 non-league win over D'Iberville (D'Iberville, MS). The Fighting Irish record now stands at 14-8.

With the loss, Wayne County moves to 6-14 on the season. The War eagles host Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS) to confront the Tigers in a 5A Region 4 battle on Monday, April 13. The Tigers come into the battle with a record of 20-7. Northeast Jones won 5-3 in their recent league battle against Stone (Wiggins, MS)
