In Friday's league game, the visiting Alleghany Cougars baseball team scored a close 5-0 win over the Glenvar Highlanders.

The Cougars (8-9) will now prepare for their game against Floyd County (Floyd, VA). The Buffaloes go into the Three Rivers game with a 12-7 record. In their last game, Floyd County was overwhelmed by Carroll County (Hillsville, VA), 5-4, in a league game.

Next, the Highlanders play the Radford Bobcats (Radford, VA) in a Three Rivers game, on Monday, May 19. Glenvar will attempt to improve on its 8-10 season record. The Bobcats go into the game with a 3-8 record after their 10-0 non-league loss to Blacksburg (Blacksburg, VA).
