The Alleghany Cougars baseball team scored 6 runs and held the visiting James River Knights to 2 in the Cougars league win on Tuesday.

The Cougars now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northside for a non-league test on Wednesday, April 9. Alleghany will play a Vikings team coming off a 5-3 non-league win over Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA). The Vikings record now stands at 3-4.

With the defeat, James River drops to 3-3 on the year. The Knights travel to Carroll County (Hillsville, VA) to play the Cavaliers in a Three Rivers test on Friday, April 11. The Cavaliers go into the test with a record of 7-2. Carroll County won 4-1 in their recent league test against Glenvar (Salem, VA)
