Massachusetts High School Baseball - New Bedford sneaks past Durfee
May 16, 2025: Fall River, MA 02720 The crowd at Friday's league battle between the New Bedford Whalers (New Bedford, MA) and the host Durfee Hilltoppers (Fall River, MA), saw New Bedford's baseball team get by Durfee by a tally of 1-0.
The Whalers (5-14) will now prepare for their battle against Dartmouth (South Dartmouth, MA). The Indians enter the non-league challenge with a 12-4 record. In their last challenge, Dartmouth nipped Apponequet Regional (Lakeville, MA), 9-8, in a non-league challenge.
With the defeat, Durfee drops to 9-7 on the year. The Hilltoppers travel to Middleborough (Middleborough, MA) to clash with the Sachems in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 17. The Sachems go into the challenge with a record of 10-7. Middleborough lost 5-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Sandwich (East Sandwich, MA)
