In Saturday's non-league game, the visiting Waverly Vikings baseball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Gretna East Griffins.

The Vikings (22-9) will now prepare for their game against Skutt Catholic (Omaha, NE). The SkyHawks enter the non-league game with a 23-5 record. In their last game, Skutt Catholic held off Hastings (Hastings, NE), 12-1, in a non-league game.

Next, the Griffins face the Hastings Tigers (Hastings, NE) in a non-league game, on Monday, May 19. Gretna East will attempt to improve on its 17-10 season record. The Tigers enter the game with a 13-12 record after their 12-1 non-league loss to Skutt Catholic (Omaha, NE).
