In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Normal University Pioneers softball team scored a tight 9-5 victory over the Morton Potters.

The Pioneers (15-16) will now prepare for their match against Oakwood (Fithian, IL). The Comets go into the non-league match with a 15-9 record. In their last match, Oakwood tipped Georgetown-Ridge Farm (Georgetown, IL), 6-3, in a league match.

In their next game, the Potters battle the Dunlap Eagles (Dunlap, IL) in a Mid-Illini match, on Tuesday, May 20. Morton will attempt to better on its 6-24 season record.
