Colorado High School Baseball - Riverdale Ridge loses to Northridge
May 19, 2021: Thornton, CO 80602 The Northridge Grizzlies baseball team scored 8 runs and limited the host Riverdale Ridge Ravens to 4 in the Grizzlies league victory on Wednesday.
The Grizzlies (3-3) will now prepare for their match against Berthoud (Berthoud, CO). The Spartans go into the 4A/3A Longs Peak match with a 2-3 record. In their last match, Berthoud was overwhelmed by Roosevelt (Johnstown, CO), 7-3, in a league match.
The Ravens (4-3) will now prepare for their match against Mountain View (Loveland, CO). The Mountain Lions go into the 4A/3A Longs Peak match with a 3-2 record. In their last match, Mountain View was overwhelmed by Thompson Valley (Loveland, CO), 9-5, in a league match.
Game Summary
Northridge evens their overall record at 3-3 and they go to 2-2 in league play with a 8-4 win over Riverdale Ridge. It was the second straight league win for the Grizzlies. Northridge gets 15 hits in the contest on their way to 8 runs. At the plate Jace Reid was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI's and Parker Steckel was a perfect 3 for 3 with a double and RBI. Gannon McGeen, Bubba Hernandez and Coby Bevins each had 2 hits in the game. On the hill Parker Steckel picks up his 1st varsity win as he pitches all 7 innings giving up 9 hits, 2 earned runs, no walks and 8 strikeouts throwing a complete game. The Grizzlies return to league action on Thursday (May 20th) hosting Berthoud with first pitch at 4:00pm.
