The New Castle Trojans routed the visiting Jay County Patriots softball squad by a final score of 7-2 in Tuesday's non-league battle.

The Trojans (13-15) will now prepare for their battle against Guerin Catholic (Noblesville, IN). The Golden Eagles go into the non-league battle with a 8-11 record. In their last battle, Guerin Catholic nudged Covenant Christian (Indianapolis, IN), 2-1, in a league battle.
