May 9, 2022: New Castle, IN 47362

Jay County Patriots (Portland, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN), 16-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they host Southern Wells for a Allen County challenge on Tuesday, May 10. Jay County will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Monroe Central (Parker City, IN). The Raiders record now stands at 4-13.

With the loss, New Castle falls to 8-10 on the campaign. The Trojans host Yorktown (Yorktown, IN) to battle the Tigers in a Hoosier Heritage challenge on Tuesday, May 10. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 14-1. Yorktown won 9-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Noblesville (Noblesville, IN)
