May 29, 2025: Mapleton, IA The crowd at Thursday's league battle between the Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto/Charter Oak-Ute (Mapleton, IA) and the visiting West Monona Spartans (Onawa, IA), saw Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto/Charter Oak-Ute's baseball team gain a win over West Monona by a tally of 6-3.
The (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against Denison-Schleswig (Denison, IA). The Monarchs enter the non-league battle with a 3-1 record. In their last battle, Denison-Schleswig by Harlan (Harlan, IA), 13-3, in a league battle.
Next, the Spartans face the River Valley Wolverines (Correctionville, IA) in a Western Valley battle, on Tuesday, June 3. West Monona will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record.
