Pennsylvania High School Lacrosse - Radnor tipped by Springfield
May 31, 2023: Radnor, PA 19087 In Wednesday's non-league test, the visiting Springfield Cougars lacrosse squad scored a tight 10-8 victory over the Radnor Raptors .
The Cougars now have a 19-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pennridge for a non-league test on Wednesday, June 7. Springfield will face a Rams squad coming off a 10-9 non-league loss to Wissahickon (Ambler, PA). The Rams record now stands at 17-2.
Game Summary
The Cougars of Springfield High School are District 1 3A Champions!! The Cougars 10 goals came across 5 players including 7 combined from (So) Patrick Flaherty and (Jr) Tyler Gougler. The Cougars led going into halftime due to a goal by Gougler with just 19 seconds remaining in the 2nd quarter. Radnor tied the game within the first minute of the second half, but Springfield answered with 3 goals of their own in the next 3 minutes of game time. Radnor was not going to go away easier, and answered with 2 of their own giving Springfield just a 7-6 lead going into the 4th quarter. After Radnor once again tied the game early in the fourth now, (Sr) Sean Donaldson, gave Springfield the lead once again in an incredible goal splitting multiple defenders and falling to the ground. Less than a minute later, Radnor tied it up once more at 8 a piece with 8:30 remaining in regulation. (Sr) Tyler Gougler scored the final 2 goals of the game, giving Springfield the 10-8 victory!
