West Springfield Spartans (Springfield, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host South County Stallions (Lorton, VA), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 14-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Robinson for a Patriot challenge on Tuesday, May 10. West Springfield will battle a Rams squad coming off a 17-1 league win over Fairfax (Fairfax, VA). The Rams record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, South County falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Stallions host Fairfax (Fairfax, VA) to battle the Lions in a Patriot challenge on Friday, May 6. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 5-8. Fairfax lost 17-1 in their recent league challenge against Robinson (Fairfax, VA)
