Michigan High School Softball - Iron Mountain drops to Houghton
May 5, 2025: Iron Mountain, MI 49801 Houghton Gremlins (Houghton, MI) supporters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad topple the host Iron Mountain Mountaineers (Iron Mountain, MI), 16-0 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Houghton improves its record to 5-5 on the year. The Gremlins travel to Hancock (Hancock, MI) to play the Bulldogs in a Western Peninsula game on Tuesday, May 6. The Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 7-6. Hancock lost 10-9 in their recent league game against Calumet (Calumet, MI)
The Mountaineers now hold a 0-4 record. They play next when they host Gwinn for a Mid-Peninsula challenge on Friday, May 9. Iron Mountain will meet a Modeltowners squad coming off a 13-10 non-league loss to Jeffers (Painesdale, MI). The Modeltowners record now stands at 1-6.
