In Thursday's non-league match, the Lake Creek Lions (Montgomery, TX) volleyball team held off the host Summer Creek Bulldogs (Houston, TX), by a margin of 2-1.

The Lions now possess a 4-3 record. They play next when they travel to Amarillo for a non-league bout on Friday, August 15. Lake Creek will clash with a Sandies team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over West Plains (Amarillo, TX). The Sandies record now stands at 1-0.
