August 22, 2023: Dunnellon, FL 34432 The Dunnellon Tigers volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the visiting North Marion Colts to 2 in the Tigers league victory on Tuesday.
The Tigers now possess a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Eastside for a 4A District 5 game on Tuesday, August 29. Dunnellon will meet a Rams team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Bell (Bell, FL). The Rams record now stands at 0-1.
The Colts (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Crystal River (Crystal River, FL). The Pirates enter the non-league game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Crystal River was nudged by Lecanto (Lecanto, FL), 3-1, in a non-league game.

You lady tigers got their first win of the young season last night against North Marion, it was a nail bitter in 5 sets. (26-24,25-23,13-25,17-25,18-16). Every set was a hard fought battle and the girls powered through with pure grit after back to back 5 set matches. The players of the game were Emma Gerace and Savannah Jenkins. Emma led our team as our Setter one, running the offense well. She had 10 assist, 5 digs, 5 aces, and scored 9 points on her serve. She moved the ball around all match and came up clutch in the 5th set to secure the win. Savannah had 6 Ks on 15 hits, 1 block, 5 dis, 6 assist, 2 aces and 4 points scored on her serve. She also kept the offense running smoothly as our setter two.
