In Friday's non-league game, the San Manuel Miners (San Manuel, AZ) football team were victorious over the visiting Valley Lutheran Flames (Phoenix, AZ), by a score of 54-24.

The Miners now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Ray for a 1A East (8 Man) outing on Friday, August 29. San Manuel will clash with a Bearcats squad coming off a 66-50 non-league loss to Desert Heights Prep (Glendale, AZ). The Bearcats record now stands at 0-1.

With the defeat, Valley Lutheran drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Flames host Joseph City (Joseph City, AZ) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league game on Thursday, August 28. The Wildcats enter the game with a record of 0-1. Joseph City lost 46-6 in their recent non-league game against Salome (Salome, AZ)
