The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Melissa Cardinals (Melissa, TX) and the visiting Argyle Eagles (Argyle, TX), observed Melissa's football squad bounce Argyle by a count of 50-14.

The Cardinals now own a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to China Spring for a non-league contest on Friday, September 1. Melissa will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 35-13 non-league win over Lorena (Lorena, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 1-0.

Coming up next, the Eagles encounter the Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 1. Argyle will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Leopards go into the contest with a 1-0 record after their 50-37 non-league win over College Station (College Station, TX).
