Georgia High School Softball - Briarwood Academy bounces Edmund Burke Academy
August 26, 2025: Warrenton, GA 30828 The Briarwood Academy Buccaneers softball team scored 15 runs and held the visiting Edmund Burke Academy Spartans to 5 in the Buccaneers league win on Tuesday.
The Buccaneers now possess a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Thomas Jefferson Academy for a GIAA Class A & AA District 4 challenge on Thursday, August 28. Briarwood Academy will meet a Jaguars squad coming off a 9-1 league loss to Brentwood (Sandersville, GA). The Jaguars record now stands at 4-2.
The Spartans (2-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Burke County (Waynesboro, GA). The Bears enter the non-league challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last challenge, Burke County overcame Hephzibah (Hephzibah, GA), 16-1, in a non-league challenge.
