Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the host Stanton Buffaloes (Stanton, TX), 34-7 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Merkel improves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Badgers host Clyde (Clyde, TX) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league test on Friday, September 8. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 2-0. Clyde won 34-21 in their recent non-league test against Eastland (Eastland, TX)

With the loss, Stanton drops to 1-1 on the campaign. The Buffaloes host Forsan (Forsan, TX) to confront the Buffaloes in a non-league test on Friday, September 8. The Buffaloes come into the test with a record of 1-1. Forsan won 24-6 in their recent non-league test against Post (Post, TX)
