Texas High School Football - Merkel nips Coahoma

In Friday's non-league bout, the host Merkel Badgers football squad scored a close 34-27 victory over the Coahoma Bulldogs.

In their next game, the Badgers face the Dublin Lions (Dublin, TX) in a 3A-2 Region II District 5 bout, on Friday, October 6. Merkel will attempt to advance on its 4-1 season record. The Lions enter the bout with a 1-4 record after their 56-7 non-league win over Florence (Florence, TX).

The Bulldogs (3-2) will now prepare for their bout against Littlefield (Littlefield, TX). The Wildcats enter the 3A-2 Region I District 4 bout with a 4-1 record. In their last bout, Littlefield nudged Brownfield (Brownfield, TX), 49-13, in a non-league bout.
