New Jersey High School Soccer - Vernon nudges High Point
September 14, 2024: Vernon, NJ 07462 Fans at Saturday's league battle between the Vernon Vikings (Vernon, NJ) and the visiting High Point Wildcats (Sussex, NJ), saw Vernon's soccer squad hold off High Point by a count of 3-2.
The Vikings (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against Newton (Newton, NJ). The Braves enter the Northwest Jersey - Freedom battle with a 0-3 record. In their last battle, Newton was edged by Blair Academy (Blairstown, NJ), 1-0, in a non-league battle.
Next up, the Wildcats battle the Dover Tigers (Dover, NJ) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, September 17. High Point will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Tigers enter the battle with a 4-0 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Pope John XXIII (Sparta, NJ).
