In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Albany Lions volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory over the Newcastle Bobcats.

The Lions (9-15) will now prepare for their challenge against Strawn (Strawn, TX). The Greyhounds enter the non-league challenge with a 10-7 record. In their last challenge, Strawn was beaten by Knox City (Knox City, TX), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bobcats meet the Benjamin Mustangs (Benjamin, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 17. Newcastle will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a 19-6 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Bronte (Bronte, TX).
