Mt. Carmel Sundevils (San Diego, CA) fans went home in high spirits Monday as they saw their flag football squad nudge the host Oceanside Pirates (Oceanside, CA), 12-6 in a league match.

The Sundevils (5-2) will now prepare for their test against Valley Center (Valley Center, CA). The Jaguars come into the non-league test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Valley Center was nipped by Escondido (Escondido, CA), 18-0, in a league test.

With the defeat, Oceanside drops to 2-5 on the campaign. The Pirates host Vista (Vista, CA) to face the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, September 18. The Panthers go into the challenge with a record of 0-6. Vista lost 27-0 in their recent league outing against San Pasqual (Escondido, CA)
