September 16, 2023: Vinton, IA 52349 Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA) backers left the game in high spirits Saturday as they observed their volleyball squad top the host Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings (Vinton, IA), 2-0 in a league match.
Next up, the Mustangs battle the West Delaware Hawks (Manchester, IA) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, September 19. Independence will attempt to better on its 9-9 season record. The Hawks come into the match with a 16-7 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Independence (Independence, IA).
With the loss, Vinton-Shellsburg drops to 12-15 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Beckman (Dyersville, IA) to battle the Trailblazers in a non-league match on Saturday, September 23. The Trailblazers come into the match with a record of 9-4.
