Georgia High School Softball - Deerfield-Windsor drops to Southland Academy
September 17, 2024: Americus, GA 31709 Southland Academy Raiders (Americus, GA) supporters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad topple the visiting Deerfield-Windsor Knights (Albany, GA), 13-1 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Southland Academy improves its record to 10-4 on the year. The Raiders travel to Fullington Academy (Pinehurst, GA) to face the Trojans in a GIAA Class A & AA District 3 game on Thursday, September 19. The Trojans enter the game with a record of 6-6. Fullington Academy lost 9-0 in their recent league game against Southwest Georgia Academy (Damascus, GA)
The Knights now hold a 2-9 record. They play next when they host Tiftarea Academy for a GIAA Class AAA & AAAA District 3 game on Thursday, September 19. Deerfield-Windsor will face a Panthers squad coming off a 9-8 league win over Valwood (Valdosta, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 4-7.
