Match Summary
In the Varsity match, our Phoenix girls lost the 1st Set in less than one court rotation, giving up multiple long serving runs to the Lady Lions. This time we were the ones making mistake after mistake. Set 2 was more of the same. Finally, in set 3, our Senior Nicole McWilson was able to start us off with an 8 point serving run, giving us a shot in the arm and a breath of air, which buoyed our team to a solid set win. We were able to continue playing like we know we can into the 4th Set, which, although a closer contest, came out our way. We were boosted again by Nicole starting us off with a 7 point serving run vs the tiring Lady Lions. The momentum shifted back to the Lions' side in the tiebreaker set, however, with our team being unable to stop the Lions' strong serving. We finished the match with a whimper.
