Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Tuscola Mountaineers (Waynesville, NC) and the host Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), saw Tuscola's soccer squad hold off Smoky Mountain by a score of 2-1.

The Mountaineers (3-5) will now prepare for their battle against Franklin (Franklin, NC). The Panthers enter the Mountain Eight 4A/5A battle with a 3-6 record. In their last battle, Franklin Pisgah (Canton, NC), 3-3, in a league battle.
