Central Catholic Vikings (Pittsburgh, PA) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA), 59-7 in a league battle.

With the triumph, Central Catholic upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to North Allegheny (Wexford, PA) to confront the Tigers in a WPIAL AAAAAA Quad-County match on Friday, September 26. The Tigers come into the match with a record of 5-0. North Allegheny won 20-17 in their recent league match against Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA)

Coming up next, the Spartans confront the Canon-McMillan Big Macs (Canonsburg, PA) in a WPIAL AAAAAA Quad-County match, on Friday, September 26. Hempfield Area will attempt to improve on its 3-2 season record. The Big Macs go into the battle with a 3-2 record after their 21-6 league win over Mt. Lebanon (Pittsburgh, PA).
