North Carolina High School Football - Draughn overwhelmed by R-S Central

September 19, 2025: Rutherfordton, NC 28139

In Friday's league game, the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) football team triumphed over the visiting Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), by a score of 48-16.

In their next game, the Hilltoppers face the Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC) in a Western Piedmont 3A/4A game, on Friday, September 26. R-S Central will attempt to move on its 1-3 season record. The Trojans come into the outing with a 3-1 record after their 59-22 league win over West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC).

With the defeat, Draughn drops to 0-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Patton (Morganton, NC) to clash with the Panthers in a Western Piedmont 3A/4A outing on Friday, September 26. The Panthers enter the game with a record of 0-4. Patton lost 36-0 in their recent league game against East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC)
