McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad thwart the visiting Kennedy Cougars (Sacramento, CA), 34-19 in a non-league match.

The Lions (3-1) will now prepare for their match against Antelope (Antelope, CA). The Titans come into the Metropolitan match with a 0-4 record. In their last match, Antelope was beaten by Placer (Auburn, CA), 31-0, in a non-league battle.

The Cougars now have a 0-5 record. They play next when they host Cordova for a non-league battle on Friday, September 26. Kennedy will play a Lancers team coming off a 64-14 league loss to West Park (Roseville, CA). The Lancers record now stands at 1-3.
