Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) boosters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting North Stanly Comets (New London, NC), 3-2 in a league test.

With the win, Union Academy improves its record to 7-1 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Lincoln Charter (Denver, NC) to encounter the Eagles in a non-league test on Wednesday, September 3. The Eagles go into the test with a record of 4-4. Lincoln Charter won 3-0 in their recent league test against Langtree Charter Academy (Mooresville, NC)

Next, the Comets meet the Gray Stone Day Knights (Misenheimer, NC) in a Yadkin Valley 2A/3A challenge, on Thursday, September 4. North Stanly will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Knights enter the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 3-0 league win over North Rowan (Spencer, NC).
