September 21, 2023: Dobson, NC 27017 In Thursday's non-league game, the Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) football team knocked off the host Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC), by a score of 19-8.
The Buckin' Elks (3-0) will now prepare for their game against Forbush (East Bend, NC). The Falcons come into the non-league game with a 5-0 record. In their last game, Forbush toppled North Surry (Mount Airy, NC), 14-8, in a non-league game.
The Golden Eagles now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host West Wilkes for a non-league game on Thursday, September 28. Surry Central will battle a Blackhawks team coming off a 22-14 non-league win over East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Blackhawks record now stands at 3-3.
