New Mexico High School Soccer - Valencia knocks off Grants
September 24, 2024: Los Lunas, NM 87031 Fans at Tuesday's league battle between the Valencia Jaguars (Los Lunas, NM) and the visiting Grants Pirates (Grants, NM), saw Valencia's soccer squad triumph over Grants by a count of 7-2.
The Jaguars (3-5) will now prepare for their battle against Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, NM). The Elks/Elkettes enter the non-league challenge with a 1-9 record. In their last challenge, Pojoaque Valley was overwhelmed by Tierra Encantada (Santa Fe, NM), 8-2, in a non-league challenge.
With the loss, Grants moves to 2-6 on the year. The Pirates host St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM) to encounter the Sartans in a 4A District 5 challenge on Thursday, September 26. The Sartans go into the challenge with a record of 8-3. St. Pius X won 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Belen (Belen, NM)
