The Lake Hornets volleyball squad (Lake, MS), was defeated 2-0 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS)

With the win, Newton County improves its record to 30-5 on the year. The Cougars host Union (Union, MS) to meet the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 27. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 22-8. Union won 3-0 in their recent league challenge against Southeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS)

Next, the Hornets meet the Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 30. Lake will attempt to improve on its 20-6 season record. The Cougars go into the test with a 30-5 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Union (Union, MS).
