The Hazleton Area Cougars football team (Hazleton, PA), was beaten 42-20 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Dallas Mountaineers (Dallas, PA)

The Mountaineers (6-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Berwick (Berwick, PA). The Bulldogs come into the Wyoming Valley 4A challenge with a 3-3 record. In their last challenge, Berwick achieved victory over Wyoming Valley West (Plymouth, PA), 41-13, in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Crestwood for a non-league challenge on Friday, October 7. Hazleton Area will meet a Comets team coming off a 45-14 league win over Wilkes-Barre (Wilkes-Barre, PA). The Comets record now stands at 5-1.
