September 30, 2023: Newton, IA 50208 The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Newton Cardinals (Newton, IA) and the visiting Davis County Mustangs (Bloomfield, IA), saw Newton's volleyball squad beat Davis County by a tally of 2-0.
With the win, Newton upgrades its record to 13-8 on the year. The Cardinals host Ottumwa (Ottumwa, IA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, September 30. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 15-4. Ottumwa won 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Waterloo East (Waterloo, IA)
The Mustangs now own a 8-21 record. They play next when they travel to Clarke for a South Central bout on Tuesday, October 3. Davis County will play a Indians squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Chariton (Chariton, IA). The Indians record now stands at 14-9.
