Georgia High School Softball - Pickens holds off White County
September 6, 2023: Jasper, GA 30143 Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting White County Warriors (Cleveland, GA), 3-1 in a league challenge.
The Dragons now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they host West Hall for a 3A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, September 7. Pickens will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 12-4 league loss to Dawson County (Dawsonville, GA). The Spartans record now stands at 2-8.
With the loss, White County falls to 10-4 on the campaign. The Warriors host Gilmer (Ellijay, GA) to battle the Bobcats in a 3A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, September 7. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 1-13. Gilmer won 7-6 in their recent league challenge against Lumpkin County (Dahlonega, GA)
