In Friday's league match, the host River Valley Panthers football squad scored a decisive 56-14 triumph over the Portage Mustangs.

The Panthers (2-1) will now prepare for their match against United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] (Nanty Glo, PA). The come into the Heritage match with a 1-2 record. In their last match, United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] was routed by Conemaugh Township (Davidsville, PA), 14-0, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Mustangs confront the Penns Manor Comets (Clymer, PA) in a Heritage match, on Friday, September 13. Portage will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Comets come into the match with a 3-0 record after their 42-24 league win over Homer-Center (Homer City, PA).
