Alaska High School Volleyball - Houston can't hold off Eagle River
September 6, 2025: Eagle River, AK 99577 In Saturday's non-league match, the Eagle River Wolves (Eagle River, AK) volleyball squad tipped the visiting Houston Hawks (Big Lake, AK), by a margin of 1-0.
The Wolves now possess a 21-5 record. They play next when they host Barrow for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 6. Eagle River will clash with a Whalers team coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Mt. Edgecumbe (Sitka, AK). The Whalers record now stands at 18-4.
With the loss, Houston falls to 1-9 on the year. The Hawks host Mountain City Christian Academy (Anchorage, AK) to confront the Lions in a 3A Southcentral match on Tuesday, September 9. The Lions enter the match with a record of 7-4. Mountain City Christian Academy lost 3-0 in their recent non-league match against Colony (Palmer, AK)
