Mica Allison has been named player of the year. "Mica has been the backbone of our success this season. We finished 39-3, winning the State 2A state championship in Illinois (IHSA). In June, Mica won the 17U AAU National Championship in Orlando earning the MVP honors for the tournament. In August, Mica was selected to travel and represent USA as a member of the 12 person team that traveled to Argentina to compete for the USA 17U National Team. Mica was placed on all 4 all-tournament teams during the regular season. Mica earned the Channel 3 WCIA All Area Player of the Year award in volleyball. Mica earned the News Gazette All Area Player of the Year award and All State Team. Mica earned the AVCA third team All American Award. Mica broke school records for aces and blocks and took second in kills, third in digs and fourth in assists. Mica has been a team captain for 3 years who leads by example. She is an incredible athlete who loves God and the sport of volleyball."
