Miles Mcilwain has been named player of the year. "Quite possibly the best all-around player on the team, McIlwain was a big-play wide receiver, a shutdown corner and an electric kickoff returner. Offensively for his career he caught 14 passes for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns, while rushing 7 times for 48 yards. Defensively he made 112 total tackles and 7 tackles for loss from the cornerback position. McIlwain also intercepted 7 passes in his career returning 1 for a touchdown and also recovered 5 fumbles as well. He did equally impressive work on special teams. In 2017, McIlwain returned 13 Kickoffs for 397 yards; a 30.5 yard per return average. He took two to the house at key moments in 2017, one a game winner against West Lafayette and the second, a momentum changer in the state title game versus Evansville Memorial. For his career, McIlwain returned 21 kicks for 597 yards (28.5 avg) and 3 touchdowns. "
