The Lyons Lions the visiting Haven Wildcats baseball team by a count of 9-5 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Lions now possess a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Canton-Galva for a non-league bout on Friday, April 17.

Next, the Wildcats face the Hoisington Cardinals (Hoisington, KS) in a Mid-Central bout, on Friday, April 17. Haven will attempt to move on its 1-5 season record. The Cardinals enter the bout with a 3-3 record after their 6-4 non-league loss to Ellis (Ellis, KS).

In game two of the double header with Haven, Lyons started Junior Nick Loesch. He threw a perfect first inning getting a strike out and two ground outs. In the second inning he faced five batters and gave up one run on no hits and a hit batsmen and a walk. The run scored on a ground out to first. Haven was able to score four runs on three hits and three walks. Loesch then faced three batters in the forth before giving way to Senior Brennen Clark who came in and pitched three scoreless innings giving up three hits all being singles. Lyons scored two runs in the third as Senior Brice Moore reached on an error and later scored on single by Freshman Kody Cox. They would score one in the bottom of the fourth on a double by Senior Spencer Johnson and a sacrifice bunt by Senior Brice Moore. Lyons scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth on two hits and one error.
