The Gilbert Christian Knights basketball squad (Gilbert, AZ), lost 45-32 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting Payson Longhorns (Payson, AZ)

With the victory, Payson advances its record to 19-4 on the year. The Longhorns host San Tan Foothills (Queen Creek, AZ) to meet the Sabercats in a 3A Metro battle on Tuesday, January 21. The Sabercats enter the battle with a record of 7-8. San Tan Foothills won 59-28 in their recent league battle against Bourgade Catholic (Phoenix, AZ)

The Knights now own a 13-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Apache Junction for a non-league battle on Wednesday, January 22. Gilbert Christian will meet a Prospectors squad coming off a 38-34 non-league win over Tonopah Valley (Tonopah, AZ). The Prospectors record now stands at 2-8.
