In Wednesday's non-league test, the North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) basketball squad knocked off the host Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC), by a score of 59-40.

Next, the Vikings encounter the Chambers Cougars (Charlotte, NC) in a 3A/4A Queen City test, on Thursday, January 9. North Mecklenburg will attempt to improve on its 10-2 season record. The Cougars come into the test with a 3-8 record after their 60-47 league win over Hopewell (Huntersville, NC).
