In Tuesday's league outing, the Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC), by a count of 59-38.

The Cougars (16-4) will now prepare for their outing against Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC). The CMS Athletics go into the 4A Conference 59 outing with a 7-11 record. In their last outing, Rocky River was crushed by East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC), 80-75, in a league outing.

The Patriots now hold a 10-9 record. They play next when they travel to Garinger for a 4A Conference 59 outing on Friday, January 27. Independence will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 87-51 league loss to East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-20.
