Nebraska High School Basketball - Sterling nips Meridian

December 13, 2022: Sterling, NE 68443

Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Sterling Jets (Sterling, NE) and the visiting Meridian Mustangs (Daykin, NE), saw Sterling's basketball squad hold off Meridian by a count of 56-52.

With the victory, Sterling upgrades its record to 1-3 on the campaign. The Jets host Pawnee City (Pawnee City, NE) to play the Indians in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 16. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 3-2. Pawnee City won 57-43 in their recent league challenge against Lourdes Central Catholic (Nebraska City, NE)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Giltner Hornets (Giltner, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 16. Meridian will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 51-27 non-league loss to Nebraska Lutheran (Waco, NE).
